Lobuche Peak Climbing Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.

Day 02: Free day in Kathmandu to prepare for Lobuche Peak.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Lukla 2,860m, by flight and trek to Phakding 2610m, 3-4 hour.

Day 4: Phakding to Namche Bazar 3,440m, 6-7 hour.

Day 5: Acclimatization day visit Everest View Hotel 5-6 hour.

Day 6: Namche to Dole 4,130m, 6-7 hour.

Day 7: Dole to Machhermo 4,470m, 4-5 hour.

Day 8: Machhermo to Gokyo 4,750m, 5-6 hour.

Day 9: Hike to Gokyo Ri 5,357m, and trek to Thangnak 4,700m, 6-7 hour.

Day 10: Thangnak to Dzongla 4,830m, 7-8 hour.

Day 11: Dzongla to Lobuche an easy day 4,940m, 3-4 hour.

Day 12: Lobuche to High Camp 5,400m, 4-5 hour.

Day 13: High Camp reserve day.

Day 14: High Camp to Summit 6,119m, and back to Lobuche 4,940m, 7-8 hour.

Day 15: Lobuche to Tengboche 3,870m, 7-8 hour.

Day 16: Tengboche to Namche 3,440m, 5-6 hour.

Day 17: Namche to Phakding 2,610m, 7-8 hour.

Day 18: Phakding to Lukla 2,860m, 4-5 hour.

Day 19: Lukla to Kathmandu by flight 35 minute.

Day 20: Reserve day in Kathmandu.

Day 21: Transfer to the Airport for departure. 

  • Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel:

    Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by one of our team representatives. He/she will escort you to your hotel. You will rest for the day, and later in the evening, you will meet with your guide and other crew members. You will end your day with delicious welcome dinner. Overnight in a hotel.

  • Day 02 Free day in Kathmandu to prepare for Lobuche Peak:

    You will begin your day with a warm breakfast. Later, you will meet with your guide and he will brief you about your trip. Today, the whole day is dedicated to the preparation of the trek. You will arrange all the gear with your guide and also do shopping if needed. If you got some extra time in your hand then you will visit some UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Overnight in a hotel. 

  • Day 03 Kathmandu to Lukla 2,860 m by flight and trek to Phakding 2,610m, 3-4 hour:

    Today, you will take one of the most thrilling flight of your life to Lukla. As a matter of fact, Lukla is known as the second most dangerous airport in the world. The flight will be short (approx. 35 minutes) and present scenic views of hills, snow-capped mountains, and gorgeous Himalayan sceneries. Upon reaching Lukla, you will have lunch and begin trekking towards Phakding. You will descend to the Dudh Koshi River, and on the way, you will go through Cheplung village. From here, you will join the main trail of Namche Bazar and reach Phakding village your last stop for the day. Overnight in a guesthouse. 

  • Day 04 Phakding to Namche Bazar 3,440m, 6-7 hour:

    You will trek along the bank of Dudh Koshi River. Further, you will cross numerous suspension bridges and go through a forested trail before reaching Namche Bazar. The trail passes through the Sagarmatha National Park, which includes several rivers, streams, and forests. Namche Bazaar is the main and the biggest village in the Khumbu village. You can likewise find many urban facilities here like money exchange services, restaurants, internet cafe, lodges, and bakeries. Overnight in the guesthouse.

  • Day 05 Acclimatization day visit Everest View Hotel 5-6 hour:

    Today is your rest day. You will spend the day exploring the village and its nearby areas. You will go on the short hike to the Everest View Hotel where you will get to see fantastic views of Mt. Everest 8,848m, and numerous other mountains. After spending some time at Everest View Hotel, you will return back to Namche Bazar where you will visit Everest Photo Gallery and Sherpa Culture Museum. Likewise, you will also get to experience the lifestyle of Sherpas and taste their delicacies. Overnight in the guesthouse.

  • Day 06 Namche to Dole 4,130m, 6-7 hour:

    You will wake up early in the morning and begin trekking after having breakfast. On the way, you will get to see clear views of snow-capped Himalayan mountains and gorgeous sceneries. You will go through small villages and terraced farm to reach Dole. Dole is a small lovely village. The main occupation of the people living here is farming and lodging. Overnight in a guesthouse.

  • Day 07 Dole to Machhermo 4,470m, 4-5 hour:

    Leaving Dole behind, you will trek towards Machhermo. You will trek for around 6 hours to reach Machhermo village. You will ascend on the moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier. On the way, you will get to see stunning views of mountains and landscape. Overnight in a guesthouse.

  • Day 08 Machhermo to Gokyo 4,750m, 5-6 hour:

    Today, you will trek towards the picturesque and famous Gokyo village. You will wake up early to begin your trek. You will trek through Ngozumpa Glacier on a zigzagged path. On the way, you will get to see captivating views of Mt. Everest 8,848m, Mt. Cho Oyu 8,201m, Mt. Ama Dablam 6,812m, Mt. Kusum Kanguru 6,367m, Mt. Thamserku 6,623m, Mt. Pumori 7,161m, Mt. Nuptse 7,861m, Mt. Lhotse 8516m, and several other mountains. You will reach Gokyo village located at the northern shore of Dudh Pokhari River. Overnight in a guesthouse.

  • Day 09 Hike to Gokyo Ri 5,357m, and trek to Thangnak 4,700m, 6-7 hour:

    Today, you will wake up early and explore the Gokyo village. You will then hike to the Gokyo Ri, which is a fantastic viewpoint. You will get to see panoramic views of Mt. Everest 8,848m, Mt. Cho Oyu 8,201m, Mt. Nuptse 7,861m, Mt. Lhotse 8,516m, Mt. Ama Dablam 6,812m, Mt. Kusum Kanguru 6,367m, Mt. Thamserku 6,623m, and several other mountains. After spending some time at the Gokyo Ri, you will trek to Thangnak through forested trail where you will stop for the night. Overnight in a guesthouse.

  • Day 10 Thangnak to Dzongla 4,830m, 7-8 hour:

    You will ascend all the way up to the Cho La Pass. The trail will be slippery, rocky, and steep in most of the part so you have to be careful while trekking. From the top of the pass, you will get to see amazing views of surrounding along with Mt. Ama Dablam 6,812m, Mt. Lobuche 6,119m, and Mt. Cholatse 6,440m. Further, you will descend down to Dzongla through rugged and forested trail where you will stay for the night. Overnight in a guesthouse.

  • Day 11 Dzongla to Lobuche an easy day 4,940m, 3-4 hour:

    Today will be the most east day for you. The trail will also be easy yet scenic. After having breakfast, you will descend down to a river and cross it on a suspension bridge. From here, you will trek through wide graveled trail and reach Lobuche. The rest of the day is free for you to rest and explore on your own. Overnight in a guesthouse.

  • Day 12 Lobuche to High Camp 5,400m:

    You will wake up early and begin trekking on a fine flat path. As you will trek, the trail becomes steeper and rocky. Along with the breath-taking views of Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Kantega, and Mt. Ama Dablam, you will reach base camp. From base camp, you will trek on a rocky moraine to reach the High Camp. During the ascent, you also have to use ropes at some point to cross crevasses again it also totally depends on the season you are climbing on. Overnight in a camp. 

  • Day 13 High Camp reserve day:

    It is an extra day for you at High Camp. You will spend the day preparing for the summit. Your guide will give you pre-climbing training on the proper use of gears like a harness, ascender, climbing boots, ice-axe, extra. You will also learn the basic peak climbing techniques along with using ropes to go up and down. This day is also set aside in case of flight delays or bad weather condition. Overnight in a camp. 

  • Day 14 High Camp to Summit 6,119m, and back to Lobuche 4,940m, 7-8 hour:

    Today is the most important and thrilling day of the entire trip as you will finally summit the Lobuche Peak. You will wake up super early in the morning and have little breakfast. After that, you will begin ascending on a rocky path and later climb on ice. You will use fixed rope to climb and cross crevasses. Upon reaching the top, you will get to see panoramic views of Mt. Nuptse 7,861 m, Mt. Everest 8,848m, Mt. Lhotse 8,516m, Mt. Ama Dablam 6,812m, Mt. Cholatse 6,440m, Mt. Pumori 7,161m, and other numerous mountains. After spending some time at the top, you will trek back to Lobuche following the same trail. Overnight in a guesthouse. 

  • Day 15 Lobuche to Tengboche 3,870m, 7-8 hour:

    You will begin descending down a hill and reach Pheriche, a small lovely village. You will go through a forested trail before reaching Tengboche. Tengboche is one of the famous villages of the Khumbu Region and also include the oldest and biggest monastery of the entire region, Tengboche monastery. You will visit the monastery. Overnight in a guesthouse.

  • Day 16 Tengboche to Namche 3,440m, 5-6 hour:

    After having breakfast, you will descend on a steep trail to reach a river. You will then cross the river on a bridge and further, trek through a dense forest of rhododendron and birch. On the way, you will get to see enchanting views of Mt. Ama Dablam 6,812m, Mt. Kantega 6,782m, Mt. Thamserku 6,623m, Mt. Kwangde 6,011m, Mt. Taboche 6,542m, Mt. Nuptse 7,861m, Mt. Lhotse 8,516m, and many other mountains. Overnight in a guesthouse.

  • Day 17 Namche to Phakding 2,610m, 5-6 hour:

    Today, you will trek back on the same path as you have come before. You will descend down through several rivers, streams, and forests. Crossing several suspension bridges, you will reach the bank of Dudh Koshi River where Phakding village is located. You will spend today's night here in Phakding village. Overnight in a guesthouse.

  • Day 18 Phakding to Lukla 2,860m, 4-5 hour:

    After having breakfast, you will leave the main trail of Namche Bazar and trek back on the same trail like before. You will reach Cheplung village and cross Dudh Koshi River. Further, you will ascend through a forested trail to reach Lukla for the night stay. Overnight in a guesthouse.

  • Day 19 Lukla to Kathmandu by flight 35 minute:

    You will take a flight back to Kathmandu. The flight will present you the last views of stunning Himalayan mountains. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore on your own. If you want you can also go on the guided sightseeing tour. In the evening, you will have farewell dinner with your guide and other crew members for the successful completion of your trip. Overnight in a hotel.

  • Day 20 Reserve day in Kathmandu:

    This is another reserve day for you in Kathmandu. In case your flight gets canceled due to bad weather or any other situation. You can again spend the day by exploring around, doing shopping, and tasting different cuisine. Overnight in a hotel.

  • Day 21 Transfer to the Airport for departure:

    One of our team members will take you to the Tribhuvan International Airport as per your flight time and bid our last goodbye to you.
